Iran film ‘Bridge of Sleep’ hits silver screen

‘Bridge of Sleep’ directed by Oktay Barahani has appeared on the silver screen in Iran.

Iran director Oktay Baraheni’s debut film has been in Iranian cinemas since January 10, 2018.

Iranian actor Houman Seyyedi as well as some of the film crew joined an opening-day event to answer questions about the film.

The intense social drama is a reimagination of Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment’.

‘Bridge of Sleep’ is about Shahab, who is about to get married. He enters a business deal along with his friend in order to help his financial situation. However, he loses all his money and finds himself in financial hardship.

The film received rave reviews after being featured at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
